I’m amazed at how much changes from week to week!
This week, I was a LOT more tired, started getting morning sickness (aka all day sickness) and really had to rethink my priorities already. I had to pull some late worknights freelancing after getting home from my day job, and for the first time ever, I actually missed a deadline.
The worst part? It was because I legitimately forgot about it, vs. just didn’t do it. Oh man. I felt AWFUL about it, and still do, because I always put my clients first. At the expense of my own sleep, usually!
But, then I realized I have a new priority in my life. And while I definitely don’t want to miss any more deadlines, I know it’s not the end of the world because my new family comes first. I’m still sorry about it, but I can forgive myself.
On Saturday, I woke up at 9:30am (amazing) and then took another nap from 12:30-2pm. Eek! I’ve never done that before!
A super fun thing that happened this week was I got to meet my midwife for the first time! I learned a lot about the process and it was nice to sit and chat with a healthcare professional who actually cares about my well-being, and doesn’t rush me into just a 10 minute visit.
I had my first blood tests this week and have an ultrasound scheduled for 2 weeks from now, when I’ll be almost 9 weeks. Wow!
We’ve decided to tell immediate family members at Christmas, so I’m really glad I got in for an ultrasound before then, although I don’t see my midwife again until the week after Christmas.
I didn’t take a new bump pic this week because I got nothin’ yet! My bloating has gone down a little, though I had to size up in a bra already. This is already getting expensive!
Main Symptoms This Week:
- Nausea, blahhh
- Super super super tiredness
- Grumpy (normal me?)
- Sore boobs
Cravings This Week:
- Spicy food (even though I’m a total wuss and hate spicy food. The baby is making me do it!)
- Beer (I didn’t have any obviously)
- Chicken caesar ranch whole wheat wraps
Milestones This Week:
- Met my midwife!
- Made an ultrasound appointment!
