Pregnancy Update: Week 17

Week 17! That’s crazy. I am almost halfway there! (Mono-di twin pregnancies are considered full term at 36 weeks, due to complications that can arise after that.)

I look about halfway there too.

Can’t believe I haven’t written an update since Week 13, whoops.

Pregnancy Update 17 Weeks

#17Weeks

This week I have felt like, frankly, SHIT.

I have been more nauseous, tired, crazy angry and all that than any other week. After having a symptom-free last week, heartburn and nausea came back with a vengeance this week.

It got so bad, I was unable to sleep or lay down and had to prop myself up on the couch, only grabbing an hour or two of fitful sleep before I had to head into work. Ugh.

And, I puke whether I eat breakfast or not from 6:30am-7am every day, without fail. I hope the end of this is near so I can finally start enjoying this pregnancy!

But one good thing is my bump has made an unmistakable appearance!

I had an appointment at my bank and my financial planner was the first “stranger” (person I don’t see often) to comment on my bump and say, “Wow, congratulations!” right away. I guess in hindsight that was risky for her since I coulda just been getting chunky but I think that means it looks like a baby bump and not just fat. 😀

It shocked me a little bit! But in a good way.

I’ve also noticed my dog being much more attentive to me, following all my commands (previously he was a bit stubborn!) and following me everywhere around the house. Even up the stairs – instead of charging past me like he usually would to reach the top first (his favourite game), he walks up slowly beside me. Helping me? I guess he thinks so! It’s very cute.

Here’s him being adorable with my bump:

He’s also got a bit of attitude with other people. A family member he knows approached him from behind when he was beside me and he snapped (no contact; but a growl and a jaw snap for sure!). He also growls at men we walk by on the street. We’re working with a trainer to correct any inappropriate aggressive behaviour, but I can’t help but think it’s related to the pregnancy because he was never like that before!

Can’t believe I’ll be halfway next week! 😮
